“Peace goes into the making of a poem as flour goes into the making of bread”. – Pablo Neruda.
Another year of learning experience again this summer, a whole week of bread baking.
Prior to my cake camp last year, I taught myself how to bake bread through online research. There are so many recipes and videos online that helped me through my bread learning experience. In the beginning, I was just happy being able to make simple white bread for sandwiches. I remember the first time watching the bread rise and baking in the oven, as if watching it to come alive and said to myself: “I’ve created something!”
After that, my curiosity leads me to experimenting with other kind of breads, which lead me to take this bread camp. Last year I wasn’t able to attend because the class was full, and I ended up in cake camp. So I register early for this year bread camp. The techniques and the bread baking lessons that I learned from the experienced chef instructor would be my investment to my bread knowledge, which is a priceless skill that will always enrich my baking world.
