“Where there’s tea there’s hope”. – Arthur Wing Pinero.
Matcha is actually a powdered green tea leaves originated from China in the 7th Century. Among the many benefits of matcha, it is an antioxidant for your body.
The weather temperature have been in the eighties and very humid lately, so making iced tea is a very refreshing idea.
Here is my recipe:
1 teaspoon matcha
2 cups water
1/2 inch cube fresh ginger
1/2 inch cube fresh turmeric
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Mint leaves for garnish
Simple syrup to sweeten
Ice cubes
First, sift matcha to a cup with a tea sifter to get rid of the lump, and mix it with warm water. Keep stirring and add more water until it dissolve. Mix in ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, and simple syrup. I added ginger and turmeric for additional antioxidants.
I suggest to keep one big pitcher in the fridge to stir and pour whenever thirst calling. Also, you can put some in to go glass containers to take with you.
